magine an NBA or MLB or NFL or NHL coach holding the responsibility of having to develop an expansion team as a first-year coach with little experience. Then, another coach from his hometown gets fired and he admits that he would now like to be considered for that job.

Let's just say if this wasn't the UFL, it would be a bigger story.

Joe Moglia, the former CEO of TD Ameritrade, who is supposed to be gearing up for his new gig as the head football coach of the UFL's expansion Virginia Destroyers team, is talking about jumping ship to Omaha.

On Monday, the Nighthawks fired their head coach, Jeff Jagodzinski, after one season.

Moglia currently lives in Omaha, where he remains at TD Ameritrade as their chairman. When contacted by The Virginian Pilot, Moglia shockingly said he may not be able to pass up the opportunity to be a Nighthawk.

"I don't know how I couldn't consider Omaha if it's presented to me," Moglia said. "It's been my home for 10 years, so I'd have to consider that."

Since the comment a Facebook page, "Joe Moglia for Omaha Nighthawks Coach," has been created.

Before agreeing to head the Destroyers, Moglia, 60, last coached in football 27 years ago, when he was a high-school and college football coach before hitting the road for Wall Street in 1983. His last gig was at Dartmouth College when he was the defensive coordinator from 1981 to 1983.

Since 2009, Moglia served long hours each week with Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini as a consultant for the program.

Although the comment suggested Moglia rather be close to home, he did say that he was focused on his Virginia coaching job.

"But that's not where my head is," Moglia said about coaching in Omaha. "I'm excited about Virginia, and I'm preparing for Virginia."
