Open minded: volleys from Melbourne Park
It has been a good time to be a woman's top seed at Melboune Park this week. Most of the top ten ranked women have not lost a set, and the 11am slot is becoming a race to see which player can get off court quickest.

Yesterday, number one seed Caroline Wozniacki knocked over American world number 88 Vania King 6-1, 6-0 in just 57 minutes on Hisense Arena. Justine Henin took four more minutes on Rod Laver Arena. Today, Kim Clijsters was off court after just 62 minutes after thrashing Carla Suarez Navarro 6-1, 6-3 on centre court, in only 62 minutes.

Of the top ten seeds, only two have conceded a set - number four Venus Williams taking three sets and three hours to dispose of Sandra Zahavova yesterday, and sixth-seeded Francesca Schiavone showing she is a complete iconoclast by playing two three-setters, including yesterday's 6-3, 5-7, 9-7 marathon second round victory over Canadian Rebecca Marino.
