Recent reports suggested manager Avram Grant was on the verge of the sack, but a win against Fulham on Boxing Day has saved him. So with his job safe (for now) it seems likely he will be backed in the January transfer market as he tries to turn things around. Co-owner David Gold has even claimed he has "15 irons in the fire".
